Full & Partial Rewiring in Coventry

Properties built before the 1970s often retain original rubber-insulated or aluminium wiring that has reached the end of its service life. A full rewire replaces all fixed wiring from the consumer unit outward, bringing the installation to current standards. Partial rewires address individual circuits or areas where the existing wiring is no longer safe or adequate.

Our approach and methodology

  1. Survey the property and agree the scope, cable routes and fixings approach
  2. Carry out first-fix wiring with agreed decoration protection measures
  3. Complete second fix — fit accessories, connect board and test
  4. Issue the Electrical Installation Certificate and notify Building Control

Technical questions — Full & Partial Rewiring

How disruptive is a full rewire?

A full rewire requires cables to be run through walls, floors and ceilings, which involves some making good. We agree the cable routes and decoration approach with you before starting, and aim to minimise damage. Redecoration after a rewire is typically the owner's responsibility and should be budgeted for.

Do I need to move out during a rewire?

For a full rewire of an occupied property, we maintain power to essential areas where possible, but there will be periods without power in parts of the house. Whether to remain or vacate depends on the size of the property and your circumstances, and is best discussed when we survey.
