Accessibility Statement
What we aim for
This site is built to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA. We believe it currently meets that standard, with the exceptions listed below. That is a considered assessment rather than a certification: it has not been audited by an independent third party.
What is in place
- A skip link to the main content on every page, including the admin pages.
- Semantic headings in order, and landmarks for the header, navigation, main content and footer.
- A visible two-tone focus indicator that keeps at least 3:1 contrast against every background colour used on the site.
- Body and interface text at 4.5:1 contrast or better.
- Every form field has a visible label, and validation messages are attached to the field that caused them.
- Decorative icons and symbols are hidden from screen readers, so buttons announce their words and not their pictures.
- Coverage checks, price estimates and enquiry confirmations are announced to screen reader users when they appear.
- Every form works with JavaScript switched off.
- Motion and smooth scrolling are switched off for anyone whose system asks for reduced motion.
Known limitations
- Content added after launch โ photo captions, alt text, service and area descriptions โ is written by the business, so its quality is not something this template can guarantee.
- Third-party content, including Google review text, arrives as we receive it.
- Automated checks (axe-core) and mobile performance audits run on every change, but automated tools cannot catch every barrier. Manual keyboard and screen reader testing is recommended before launch and after any content change.
