Emergency Drainage Callout in Exeter
Sewage backing up into a property, a flooded basement or an overflowing manhole are situations that need attention quickly. We offer out-of-hours attendance for drainage emergencies across our coverage area. Emergency callouts are charged at a higher rate than planned work — the estimator shows the out-of-hours uplift. Where the problem turns out to be on the adopted sewer network (South West Water responsibility), we will confirm this and advise you to contact the water company before chargeable work proceeds.
What might emergency drainage callout cost?
This is a ballpark figure. We always agree the final price with you before we touch anything.

Questions about Emergency Drainage Callout
Sewage is coming up through my drain — who is responsible?
If the blockage is in a drain serving only your property, it is your responsibility. If it is in a shared run serving two or more properties, it is likely adopted by South West Water and their responsibility to clear free of charge. We confirm ownership before committing to chargeable work. If it is a South West Water issue, we will advise you to call them on their emergency line.
How quickly can you attend a drainage emergency in Exeter?
In our core Exeter coverage area we aim to attend within two to four hours of an emergency call. Exact timing depends on the time of day and current demand. Call us directly rather than using the enquiry form for emergency attendance.
