Drain Unblocking in Exeter
Most domestic blockages are cleared on the first visit. We start with manual rodding where the access allows, escalate to high-pressure jetting where the blockage is in a longer or harder-to-reach run, and carry out a CCTV check if the blockage keeps returning or the cause is unclear. An estimate for the appropriate method is confirmed before any chargeable work starts.
What might drain unblocking cost?
This estimate is a guide only. We will always confirm the exact price with you before any work starts — you are never committed until you say so.
What drain unblocking usually involves
- Blocked kitchen sinks and waste pipes
- Blocked toilets and soil pipes
- Bathroom basin and shower drains
- External gullies and yard drains
- Downpipes and rainwater drains
What to expect when we come out
- Identify the affected fixture and the likely blockage location
- Apply the appropriate clearing method — manual rods, electric snake or jet
- Test flow from every fixture on the affected run
- Advise on follow-up inspection if the cause suggests a structural problem
Questions about Drain Unblocking
Do you charge more for external drains than internal ones?
The method, time and access rather than the internal or external location determine the cost. External gullies are often the quickest jobs; a main soil stack serving multiple floors can take longer. The estimator gives an indicative figure and the exact cost is confirmed before work begins.
What if the blockage keeps coming back?
A recurring blockage on the same run usually means either something is continuously entering the drain (fat, wipes) or there is a structural fault such as a displaced joint, root ingress or a belly in the pipe. A CCTV survey identifies the cause and is the most cost-effective next step rather than repeated unblocking visits.
